Just after releasing the visuals for ‘M.I.A.’ featuring Wale, Omarion has announced that he’ll be releasing a free online EP through iTunes on November 29th. The project, which is called ‘Care Package,’ will represent Omarion’s first release on Maybach Music Group.

Omarion explained that he’s taking on some new challenges in his career including a focus on writing and a new style of dance. “I’m writing more. I’m dancing different. And I really want to entertain the people,” Omarion told Billboard.

The R&B singer added that he hopes his new style isn’t something that fans would have expected. “I think that people didn’t foresee this move for me — that people were like, ‘Oh, what’s up with Omarion?’ Omarion fell off this, Omarion did that. What’s gonna be his next move? This is my next move,” said Omarion.

‘Care Package’ will be Omarion‘s first release since 2010’s ‘Ollusion’ which sold only 78,000 copies in the United States and came out through his own imprint StarrWorld Entertainment.

VIBE.COM – No disrespect to Nas, but when it comes to rap crews, Rick Ross and Maybach Music Group have the summer on smash. So it was only right to plaster the ever-growing collective (also including Meek Mill, Wale, Omarion, Stalley and Gunplay) on VIBE’s 2012 Juice issue, celebrating the shooting stars and full-grown supernovas of our culture.

Yet as Wale eases his way into household name status and Meek Mill plans for a DMX-like takeover of the hip-hop and pop charts with his upcoming album Dreams & Nightmares, the question stands: Has Rozay erected something even greater than himself? Jetting between New York and Los Angeles, VIBE Music Editor John Kennedy (@youngjfk) infiltrates Ross’ untouchable empire to study the makeup of hip-hop’s anointed super group.

Omarion explained why he put a “Maybach O” tattoo on his hand. He specified that he doesn’t have a B2K tattoo because his experience with the group didn’t compare to how Rick Ross has made him feel now that he’s with Maybach Music. Omarion also touched upon his music plans now that he’s with Ross’s group.

What does a former Philly corner boy, a division 1 basketball player from Ohio and a teen sensation all have in common? Rick Ross. As Rozay continues to assemble his Maybach Music Group Empire, we sat down with three of the guys: Meek Mill, Stalley and Omarion (aka Maybach O) on the night of the release of their compilation album Self Made 2.

So what do three incredibly different guys all have to talk about? Women (of course). What resulted were a variety of answers to questions on what they find attractive in different women, to love & even heart break. Meek just wanted to go home. Stalley wanted to talk and Omarion…We’re really not sure what Omarion wanted. But it was entertaining nonetheless.

Omarion’s once promising career has reached a stand-still as of late, but the 27-year-old is back in the game and has joined one of the strongest teams in hip hop.

Maybach O Talks Fresh Start With MMG

The one time B2K member was announced as the newest member of Rick Ross’ hot label Maybach Music Group and is attempting to reinvent himself as an artist.

“The changes that I needed to make?” Omarion says confidently. “I made them.”

“I’m writing more. I’m dancing different. And I really want to entertain the people,” says Omarion. “I think that people didn’t foresee this move for me — that people were like, ‘Oh, what’s up with Omarion?’ Omarion fell off this, Omarion did that. What’s gonna be his next move? This is my next move.”

“This is the first time in my life that I’ve ever just lived life — just walk in the mall, spend time with my family,” says Omarion. “I do think that having a career is about transitioning through peaks and valleys. No one stays hot forever. There’s times where you need to take a break.”

That break was over when Omarion ran into Rick Ross in March during the CIAA basketball tournament. Omarion told Ross he wanted him to contribute to a song he was working on. “He told me, ‘We should sit down before you finish up,'” Omarion recalled.

Rick Ross flew him to Miami where they talked and played records. “Probably the most important thing that anyone in this position has ever said to me — and when I say in this position, I consider Ross an executive, not just an entertainer and a lyricist but a mogul… He was just like, ‘I believe in you. You’re an icon [in] everything that you’ve done, even the time that you’ve taken to just live.'”

Omarion released his first track since joining MMG titled ‘Let’s Talk’ recently, which will appear on the upcoming collaborative album ‘Self Made Vol. 2.’

Omarion is no new face to music or the silver screen.

An LA local that found success at a very young age, he has done so many things which others have only dreamt of.

All of that success so early on makes me think of how hard it would be to stay driven and do better. So, when he stopped by for his latest video, I felt a need to know what it was that encouraged him to strive for greatness.

I made my way down to the studio and watched the shoot for a few hours. The music had a smooth, rebelliously sexy feel, and the video promises even more of the same. Anyway, on one of the breaks I got a chance to talk to him, and being the humble personality that he is, he agreed to an interview.

Q: So what brought you to AZ studios to make this song a video?

A: Well this is a studio that I am very familiar with. I actually shot another video here on my own that went viral. But today we’re here focusing on a collaboration that I did together with (the artists named) Money. It’s for a song called Restraint. This song is dealing with the things that happen when you like somebody but you don’t want to admit it. So far we got some great footage, and we’re getting it done, baby!

Q: After B2K, a film/TV and solo recording artist career garnering multiple awards…where do you see yourself going in 2012?

A: On to bigger and better things! I have my eyes on advancing not only on the business end of the industry, but creatively as well. Every year you got to just want to get better.
You know, to have the opportunity to do this for as long as I’ve been doing it, which I’ve been truly blessed, I thank god for my foundation. So, now it’s time for me to strive to get better and better both for my fans and for my own sanity.

Q: Having had such a long career and starting at a young age do you ever find it hard to stay inspired?

A: Well, you know, there’s something similar about all the people that have ever been great in this world and that’s the fact that they never stop. Now I see life as the ultimate muse. Just brainstorm the things that you experience in life: love, anger, competition, different sounds, different sights. So, I look to the greats for motivation and use life as my inspiration.

Q: What’s your trick for staying motivated when times get tough?

A: It depends on what you mean by tough. Around here we believe that you have to push forward especially when it hurts. You have to just take a second to realize that’s going to happen and that you have the all-mighty on your side, then take a breath, focus, and keep on moving.

Q:Who are your biggest musical influences and inspirations?

A: Definitely Michael Jackson, but recently I like anyone that can capture the heart. You know this business is so full of people trying to make money or trying to make someone else happy that they forget to just feel. So it’s nice to hear some really inspired work.

Q: Most of the endeavors you have decided to embark on have been extremely successful, which begs the question: does Omarion have a secret to his success?

A: I think so, and that’s just to go with your instinct and do what feels right. You also have to make sure to align yourself with the right people. And, I mean you have to take the bad with the good. Sometimes things may not be as successful as you want them to be. But at the end of the day, when you put your heart into something, and do it for all the right reasons, your dreams can come to fruition.

Q: If there is one thing you want the world to remember you for what would it be?

A: Probably…hmm, well that’s a tough question. But I think it’s the same thing that everyone wants: just to be remembered for having given it my all, and inspiring people to be better.

The main thing that stuck out to me about Omarion was just his desire to pursue and improve on his art. With that kind of focus and drive it’s no surprise that he has found success. The shoot itself was a great victory with so many amazing shots, and a great song to boot; it should be coming out soon so stay tuned.
